Nowhere!!!

Pimpri - Magarpatta - Katraj - Rohit Dhaba - Kapurhole - Narhe - Bhatghar Dam & back.... That's the path you should take, if you want to go "nowhere" and come back with a lots of wisdom and peace of mind. Just kidding!! The route just happened... just like that... unplanned..

Many important things were lined up for the morning and noon. Things that were already draining me, even the thought of them. Tough decisions to make with long-term implications. Needless to say I was freaked out... and stressed out. Too many scenarios running at the back of my mind, with multiple possibilities and outcomes. You know how our minds work! By noon, nothing happened. In spite of repeated calls and follow up, the person, who was supposed to come, didn't turned up.

Was already so stressed out that I started "working" on my bike a day before this... to relieve some buildup... but that didn't help much. And now this "kalti"!

I needed a long ride, before I could start thinking straight!

Morning Emptiness

It's been long long time since I've rode my bike at unearthy hours of early morning. Wide open empty roads. No traffic. Occasional fast moving vehicle - a truck usually .. winters are slowly reciding but its still cold.. the 'still' morning air.. cold and a lil bit chilling.. not much but .. can ride at 40-50kmph not any faster .. wee bit warmer on the bridge across the small rivers criss-crossing Pune.. warm, humid, smelly moisture for a couple of seconds.. twice in the entire 15kms short dash to Pune Station from home (Pimpri).. old black leather jacket still keeps me warm.. carrying helmet in train is 'pain' but shouldn't have left it at home.. anyways.. the morning emptiness of roads and a peaceful short ride of just 30mins brings back many memories.. early morning rides are always soothing .. should be doing more of them.. I am missing something in my daily routine .. Perhaps its time I started getting up early each day.. pick up some physical activity..

Love is a two way street - Is it?

The title sounds interesting, isn't it? It did to me - that's the reason why I'm punching few random words on this post. (Punching words?? doesn't even sound good... "penning" used to be wonderful and it was proper!)
The title comes from a product/brand promotion contest running at indiblogger - the tag line says "Love is a two way street: Love your hair and it loves you back!" which reminds me of few automobile ads - my favorites

Rang De Basanti: A Generation Awakens

A generation awakens?? An exaggeration?? A marketing gimmick?? An overstatement?? Perhaps… but remember the French revolution was ignited by a non-existent piece of cake and bread! Revolutions, in classical sense, aren’t the order of the day. And most certainly don’t happen by watching a typical 3-hour bollywood-masala flick.
But this case is different!
While coming out of the dark cinema hall with other people, some with moist eyes, some with a smile and some sporting a cynic look, I wondered… how apt this analogy would portray what I felt like. And many be a few like me would feel - transiting from darkens to bright light with a momentary blur and then seeing things clearly.
“Agar tum system ko badalne jaao, to system tumhe hi badal dega” (If you want and take initiative to change or improvise system, system itself will make sure you are changed!)
But, “No nation is perfect. You have to make it a better one.”

Unclicked Memories of A Lone Rider ......

Had a ride this weekend too. I rode all alone this time. Not that this was the first time I rode alone, but this was one of those times where inspite of riding alone I didn't feel that loneliness. Mother nature was there to accompany me.

Here are the pics that I took from my cam. Although these pics don't do any justice to the glorious scenes that I witnessed, they would atleast give a fair idea of what was in store for this rider.

The ride was different from others in more than one ways. I was expecting someone would join me for this ride. I did this ride so that I could attend wedding of a fellow biker. I did this ride to see if I can really capture good snaps. To see if  photography is my cup of tea or I shouldn't pursue this new interest.

One thing I learnt the hard way was, always carry an extra film roll. This goes inline with the to-dos of long rides i.e. always carry spares. You never know when you might need one. The very first time and I ran out of film, eventually missed  some real good 10-15 pics.
